Project Recovery

Untitled document

There is no denying it. Some projects fail. But what is failure?

Failure is when a project produces less and less, finally grinding to a virtual halt. Throwing more resources at the project makes no significant difference. Dissatisfaction grows at every level, exacerbating the problem. As everyone is ground down by the problem, emotional lock ups and office politics prevents all serious attempts at solving the problem. This downward spiral looks irreversable.

There are a few keys to initiate recovery

  • Recognize failure. Insight is the first step to recovery.
  • Recognize that the problem is not technical, but rather one of management and group dynamics.
  • Recognize that you need help.
SDU can provide the objective help that you need, by analyzing the problem and gently coaching the project team back on track.
