Emergency: Wireless IP Telephone

Untitled document

A company developing a wireless IP telephone were only weeks away from the announced project launch at CeBIT. But the telephone did not work. With a little luck, a single telephone was possible, but even that was unlikely.

Having failed to locate the problem, they asked SDU to help find the problem.

Those quick bug fixes were followed by a more detailed analysis of the software, and a suggested reengineering path.

Post Scriptum

So what happened?

The company decided not to do any reengineering, instead giving priority to an early market introduction. After about 1000 units they were forced to stop selling the telephone, as they could not cope with the flow of support request.

This company no longer exists.
